DESCRIPTION: The two (2) hour course meets WIAA HANDBOOK RULE 20.4.10 which requires stunt certification for cheer coaches who intend to have their cheer squads perform stunts. Coaches must be certified every two (2) years. The courses are approved and scheduled by the WIAA, and are offered in various locations around the state as needed.
Coaches will be instructed in how to:
- Properly plan the activity and understand duties and responsibilities.
- Provide a safe environment with proper equipment to reduce risk and prevent injury.
- Directly supervise all stunting/lifting/tumbling activities.
- Utilize the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) Spirit Rule Book.
- Assess athlete performance readiness.
- Keep records of stunt progression of each athlete.
